T-Mobile To Bring 25+ 4G Devices To Market In 2011

While I admit the lack of detail surrounding this number is a bit frustrating, 25 plus HSPA+ devices coming in 2011 at least leaves plenty to the imagination.  This number is a combination of data and phone devices which comes very close to our own assumed number of 24, though our information was specific to data devices.  Even so, 25 plus devices with at least some of them running on the upcoming 42Mbps HSPA+ network is something I can definitely look forward to and I imagine I’m not alone.  Fingers crossed for something that also does my laundry!

Not a single new device? Seriously? T-Mo is the only carrier that doesn’t have a 4.3″ HTC Android, yet they are the ones who supported Android from the go. WTF? AT&T hardly supported Android, and they get one before us? Not cool, HTC/T-Mo/Google.

cant they just fix the 4g signal in salt lake. it sucks. i have edge most of the time and the highest speed that i have gotten is 4636 kbps down and 1274 kbps up. and that was only once.

    • Axel1476

Same thing in new Orleans all I get is edge and only ever got 4g in metairie

I hate that verizon and at&t pretty much stomped tmobile with their phone announcements. Tmobile was kinda late last year with their phones (with the exception of the hd2 and nexus one) and it looks like its gonna happen again. I think verizon released about 3-4 new 4.3 inch screen phones and at&t with 2-3 phones. I hope they’re waiting for others to end their official announcements before they say anything (hoping for at least 2 large screen android phones on the new 4g network). Is Sprint even participating in the event? lol

What the hell T-mobile i thought u were going to bring a hupe surprise(cough, lg optimus 2x)but you failed. They didnt even show a freakin phone. Did they forget ces was to show new devices, they just jabbered about there speeds. Oh they showed the dell streak, wow…., lame. the lg tablet wasnt even turned on. they better announce the optimus 2x real soon or i might just go to another carrier that actually annouce some new phones, especially with dual core processers. You let us down real bad t-mobile.

Why wasn’t there an Android powered 4.2 inch (4″ is too small 4.3 is too big)
    Super AMOLED screen
    Dual core processor
    3.0 honeycomb
    Slider
In Hot Pink with Purple poka dots
Pre loaded with all the apps that ‘I’ think are important
    With Swype, and T-9
Oh and i want a 4.3″ too, just so all the people who are complaining can shove it squarely up their ass!

worst press conference of all carriers, no handset info? no optimus 2x? FAIL… no 4.3 devices announced? 3 HTC devices announced, NONE on t-mobile? no Samsung vibrant plus or 2? …. Sucks…

    • Bart Jones

I am disappointed in your spelling. What is the deal with everyone wanting 4.3 inches. The extra quarter-inch makes almost no difference, it is a cell phone, not a tablet.

      • http://twitter.com/Serotheo Simon Yu

People like the larger screens for viewing videos/media, as well as the room for touch input.. I know I’d like a 3.7-4.3 in for Emulators. Been using this Cliq.. and the screen is cramped.

      • hi!

I feel bad for you mr bart jones. Maybe someday you’ll understand. You see, phones are the future. That’s pretty obvious. This whole tablet thing is simply a fad brought on by the iPad which was simply made because apple could market anything and make money. I digress, a tablet does nothing a phone can’t and by the end of the year everyone will have woken up and seen that.

Which brings me back to my original point. As phones are unquestionably the future, they’ll be used more and more and FOR more and more. Thus, the bigger screen size is obviously useful. These are the computers of the future, it IS a tablet already. We need the screen size. Do you think it’s a coincidence that the top providers in the country have MULTIPLE 4.3″ phones.

The demand is obviously there and you’re obviously short-sighted

        • Walt8181

I have to agree totally, 100 percent. The more we are able to do with these phones, we are going to need more screen real estate to be able to use them correctly. I had a Vibrant since August. That was the largest size screen I ever had. It was awesome and that SuperAMOLED isn’t no slouch neither. That thing is amazing. Besides the screen, the phone is ewwww…..it was a rushed product. GPS issues, software updates, lag issues so I switched to a G2 after 4 months of having the Vibrant. I didn’t think it was going to be much of a difference going from 4.0 inches to 3.7 inches on the G2 but you know what? To me, it is. I want a bigger screen so I don’t have to squint to do things and etc. I want more real estate. I would take a Dell Mini 5 if it worked on our data network. I would carry a 5 Inch phone/tablet. Shoot, if I could make calls on the TAB I would carry that around with a bluetooth headset. We got the HD7. Whoopy doo. Wheres the gorgeous HTC and Moto slabs? Look at the Samsung Infuse…that thing is huge but its a samsung and on AT&T. Double FAIL.

Where should I start?! T-Mobile got destroyed. T-Mobile actually sound like at&t or Verizon talking about network throughout the entire conference. Verizon knows their about to get the iPhone and they still brought all the goodness. Thunderbolt, Samsung 4.3 inch LTE phone, LG Revolution, & the Droid Bionic and what does T-Mobile has, the Cliq 2. Embarrassing!! I’m about to jump ship to Verizon if they don’t get their act together. I know, you guys gonna tell me that T-Mobile has the fastest network. Please, I have the mytouch 4G and I barely have HSPA+.

    • Jonathan

@CForCity: I totally agree. T-Mobile shouldn’t have even showed up to CES this year. One word: EMBARASSING! My contract is up with T-MO, I have been with them for 8 years. In the last year or so, I keep hoping that they will get it together and drastically improve their network, phone devices & promotion of the two but, alas, they haven’t. I’ll give them 2-3 months to impress me if not, hello Big Red.

    • Walt8181

I feel you CForCity. The numbers sound good, it’s the actual real world numbers that are pathetic. I’m in the first city to go HSPA+, Philadelphia (I even read that my neighborhood NE Philly is the testing bed for T-Mobile’s new tower tech and etc which is tested here then implemented throughout the country) and get FREAKING 500k average in my neighborhood with my G2. HSPA+ is 21mb but they promised averages of 9mb. I never seen numbers like that. The highest I seen was 7000k on my speedtest and that was one time. My Vibrant seen speeds of 5000k. They may have the largest “4G” network but it’s clearly not reliable or consistent. I’m thinking about jumping to Verizon as well. I just got my free G2 and signed another 2 years but I can sell this G2 to cover my early termination fee…..25 Devices? I don’t even want to see them. Not a superphone in sight I bet and don’t even tell me it’s going to be the LG Optimus because that looks like the Vibrant’s sibling. Ugly. Where are the HTCs and “DROIDish” Motorolas? Verizon gets the cream of the styling and speed crop while we get the Cliq 2? Come on. Peace! But you know the saying, you get what you pay for. Cheap plans………ugly phones.

from what i heard the mytouch 4g is tmo version of the desire hd, which is basically what the evo and the thunderbolt is. at&t and telus got their own version too, that coming out this year. tmo is the only version of that phone that got a 3.8 display and an ugly ass design instead of 4.3 display. tmo cater to the teens and preteens crowd, they phones are family oriented.

Mytouch 4g? yeah….that crap is for sissies. Look at the EVO 4G and Thunderbolt design and compare that with the Mytouch 4G. Night and day. The Mytouch is horrendous looking and some of the phones coming with an okay screen while some come with a washed out screen? No thanks. You’re right about the tweens crowd because the mytouch design doesn’t scream out manly.

Like most people on here, I also feel like T-Mobile got slammed. I mean think about it. We started this whole Android franzy. We should be sitting on top but we lost it to the other guys. I feel like this CES was all about Verizon and AT&T. T-Mobile and Sprint were left out, so I’m hoping T-Mobile takes the cake at next month’s MWC.

  • TonyJohns

Look if you are going to wait “x number” of months before deciding to leave T-Mobile. Why don’t you do us all a favor and leave now. I say time and time again, if you are not satisfied…leave! Go to Verizon where your ETF is an arm and a leg, and now you cant even early upgrade your phone.

Go to AT&T where you are nickel and dimed to death in data charges, and limited to 2GB a month.

Go to Sprint where you have to pay their 4G fee coverage charge, even if you don’t have 4G in your area!

Bye! T-Mobile WILL NOT miss you.

    • whosaidwhat

What makes some of you think you can tell others to leave. Every single person on T-Mobile is allowed to voice their opinion and let T-Mobile know what they want. After all, they are for the customer right?

That’s like telling people if they are not happy with the country, they can leave.

I see a lot of people asking for new and better hardware and there’s nothing wrong with that if they are willing to pay for it.

I will personally be happy with getting the Nexus S but I don’t blame others for wanting something more and I’ll sure not tell them to go elsewhere because they obviously aren’t complaining about T-Mobile as a company.

      • Anonymous

if you don’t like something, YOU SHOULD LEAVE, even if it is a country, wtf there are maaaany countries you can go to

      • TonyJohns

        @whosaidwhat

My point is you come up here and see time and time again a post like “I’ve been with T-Mobile for 8 years and I have been waiting for *insert whatever type of superphone they want* and if I don’t see something that keeps me interested with T-Mobile in 2-3 months, I’m heading to *insert whatever carrier has the phone they want*”

Well by all means, why wait that 2-3 months? Leave now and go to where you are satisfied. Why spend money on a carrier that isn’t satisfying your needs? I just don’t understand why people complain that another carrier has a certain type of phone, and T-Mobile doesn’t, but yet they are STILL WITH T-MOBILE.

I guess it’s easier to complain that actually doing something.

        • whosaidwhat

Let’s have a civil conversation about this…I’m not going to reply to ignorant people who think they can say whatever they want online.

I get your point and they are valid points. I do agree that if someone give t-mobile 2-3 months to get something they want else they walk, they by all means they should walk and stop complaining.

I’m defending the people who just don’t have any desire to leave t-mobile (maybe because of their customer service, prices, free 4G, corporate discounts or locked into a contract) but want better hardware.

I mean, there are people on Verizon right now complaining about not having Windows Phone 7 and they have every right to complain because they want that technology on their favorite network.

Let me give you another analogy. If you have a home depot and lowes store within miles of each other but you carry a lowes credit card with incentives, wouldn’t you want them to carry the same thing home depot carries so you can take advantage of the incentives?

        • TonyJohns

          @whosaidwhat

I am a Netflix customer. I would like to see Netflix create/open/collaborate an adults only (pr0n) section. Complaining about it until I’m blue in the face isn’t going to make it happen. I can list all the other DVD rental companies that have similar sections and some that even dedicate their whole DVD library to the adult market. But Netflix still doesn’t have an adult section. So guess what? I can carry my happy butt over to the other DVD companies that cater to my needs and all is well.

Netflix has a niche. Some of my wants aren’t included in their niche.

T-Mobile has a niche. They are all about affordable prices. Every phone they release has to fit into this niche. Releasing a certain type of SUPERPHONE may mean passing higher prices to their customers, and being in the niche of affordability, that isn’t a wise business move.

It’s not to say T-Mobile will never get any good phones, they will. They just have to tweak them to fit their niche. If you don’t like the T-Mobile niche, there is the door.

In regards to your Lowes/Home Depot analogy. If I were a Lowe’s CC holder, and after X months/years they still didn’t carry a certain item I wanted that was available @ Home Depot. I would just drive across the street to Home Depot to get it.

        • whosaidwhat

Ha…Good point with the netflix thing. But remember that because they haven’t introduced the kind of content you want doesn’t mean they aren’t listening. Same thing happened to a number of us who wanted netflix on the playstation 3. After months of complaining they did something about it with the blu-ray disc the introduced last year. The more people that complain about the lack of netflix app for android the quicker they will get the ball rolling on the app.

Now, the point about t-mobile being about affordable is what people need to understand. I think once that point is well understood, people will stop asking for too much.

And about the home depot/lowes analogy, it’s not only because the person might be carrying a lowes card but because the card might give them some incentives and that’s why they wouldn’t want to go across the street to home depot. I think we both have valid points.

          It is what it is.

        • Anonymous

As you said we WILL get the EVO’s that SOME of us want but why is it like they are beating around the giant Android phone bush? Give me one good reason why we have everything like the other carriers WP7, Tablets, 4G, Video chat, (and even)Stock Android, just like the other companies EXCEPT a Android with a 4.3″+ screen? How does an EVO NOT fit into the lineup nicely? It just seems like they are dodging ONLY that and that is the only thing that upsets me about TMO.

I completely understand what you mean about the people who cry on here talking about jumping ship. Then go or just wait it out. Waiting it out is what I’m doing because I know that “in the coming months” we will finally have the size device that I’m looking for. Right now there are 2 introductory Large Android phones and NOW they will become more previlant.

          End Rant.

9 years with T-Mobile and I can’t take it any longer. I’m so friggin tired of waiting for “maybe next quarter”. I’ll pay more but I know I’ll get better service with Verizon and I’ll have a selection of 4.3 inch Android phones that I have been BEGGING T-Mobile to brint to market. What good is faster HSPA+ when my phone won’t even hold a 3G signal. How about really building out your system first! I might even see what AT&T’s new HTC’s phone the Inspire looks like. T-Mobile just DOES NOT GET IT! You talk geek to us with faster speeds and this and that but offer us toy phones while the other carriers offfer monster phones. Who ever buys phones for T-Mobile should lose their job, do they not see where the trend is heading? Larger display phones are where it’s at.

    • Tenko

As much as I love a huge display. Cramped on money. T-Mobile is basically for people who are poor. If you can’t stand it any more. Just leave. Terminate your contract now and go to any other carriers. Yet you will wait till August. Hypocritical aren’t you?

      • Anonymous

Tmo is *not* for people who are poor! That is the domain of Metro, Cricket and Boost Mobile. It is not ridiculous to suppose that people who pay $500 unsubsidized and $200 on contract for a phone should expect that company to be on par with its competitors. On the other hand, if you’d say that Tmo is cheap and doesn’t spend money properly on advertising and on acquiring top tier phones, I’d have to agree with you.

        • Tenko

Well, Tmo needs to put more money for ads. That and OEMs tend to play favorites. (Ex. Motorola)

I’m with you on that. I dont see an HD7 on Cricket or a MyTouch 4G on Boost. We are a premium carrier with premium prices and phones just like the top 3. We are on par with the top 3 as far as phones go right now but they aren’t styled and advertised as cool as the DROIDs. I’m gonna keep faith that TMO will remain competetive against the what? FIVE monsterous Androids that have been announced.

I’ve been waiting since the HD2 came out to get something like that with Android and time after time they have let me down. This has got to be the time.

      • Just call me Dude

You have the wrong mentality Tenko, there is no reason why T-Mobile shouldn’t be for everyone. I want T-Mobile to be great which is why I’ve stayed with them for so long. I’m just not going to continue to down this path any longer

explaining things to dumb people is exhausting. besides im talking to him like his daddy should have when he was little and dropped his lollypop. his daddy prob said,”keep on lickin that lolly and maybe itll be clean someday” instead of saying “just move on and get a new lolly” if he is displeased with tmo he should just leave, dont threaten to leave, dont whine about it, just do it. its not like the tmobile people actually peruse these boards so hes just annoying the people that are here to read the news on tmobile ,not some losers crying that hes not happy. its repetitive, its useless, and its annoying. its not insults, its frustration at reading the same 3 or 4 lines from different people that go on every thread here and repeat the same crap like spam. btw congrats on being a giant, but i was right, large screen phones are peaking.

Dude, you are right on the money. I have the Evo right now, but I’m waiting for T-mobile to get a good phone so I can switch and get 4g. I live in phoenix and the only 4g is T-Mobile. My girlfriends Vibrant is 10 times faster than my Sprint service. But now that I have had 4.3″ I can’t go back. I would prefer 4.7″. And that would still fit in my pockets just fine. I don’t know where some of these people get there pants. They must have tiny pockets

I don’t see much to complain about except for the simple fact that tmobile hasn’t announced anything related to phones so many people are leaving for the sole purpose of an announcement not being made. I don’t believe the nexus one was announced last year but maybe that was google’s secret. I don’t think T-mobile is going to wait 3 months to release a new phone besides the cliq 2.If your coverage is bad, maybe you should switch, it will open the eyes of the company. They have been building towers like crazy in Illinois and I hope they are doing the same in other places to expand voice and data coverage. I think the new CEO is going to push this operation forward this year and maybe they are going into a different direction that their competition and decided to talk coverage this year and tablets to be the main focus of their events because no one else is talking about it so it could be an advantage for them to incorporate internet and tablets in the same concept at CES….hopefully this is the case.

Nexus One was announced January 5 2010.

I hate to say it but I too was disappointed that absolutely no momentum was built to get people psyched about this yr for TMO…..Although lets look at it in a bigger context.
Verizon: Yes FLASHY NEW 4G. Lets not forget that they have NOT 1….read 1 phone that is operable on their network. They had to show all their cards up front if not lose interest in all this money and effort being put up. Plus you can cash this as the last time you will see anybody care for ANDROID on BIG RED until…..you know.
AT&T: No Surprise. Your losing your cash cow and now your looking for scraps from the OS you have neglected by supporting the “OS” of choice. Look at the fact that they too have been under the microscope with bad network/service reviews, the 4G battle with everybody (TMobile Shut YOU UP!) and now the REAL threat of life after IPhone is sinking in. What else do you do??
    Sprint: IRRELEVANT.

Bottom Line…what dates and time frame are we looking for most of these devices? In some cases (AT&T) these are the MAJOR releases you can expect this year. TMo showed its hand by already being set and ready to move further. Now they need to focus on their network and backhaul (3g for all!) before we show all of our cards. But I must say that we are running low on ammo so we must get a HEADSHOT. And QUICK…..

    • moneyman

These are the “big boy” phones they are being announced and most are being released in march/april. Tmobile should have the Optimus 2X around the same time so I’m hoping that is an indication that they have more models in stored for a competitive release. I like how at&t tried to call out tmobile for hspa+ and then goes behind them to do the same thing…

@Jay+MoneyMan the most rational comments I’ve seen. Besides there’s much more important stuff to worry about.

  • Auser72

I am reading these comments here, and have to say that you are allout of touch with the average consumer. While I like the latest and greatest gadget like most on this site, I do realize that the majority of people couldn’t tell you what a CES is, or dual core processor, know the the OS of phone, our care for a Screen larger than 4″. We are the very very small percentage who wait on the next it phone or android updates and visit a site dedicated to cell phone carrier religiously. The vast majority are concern with price and coverage. For every high end smart phone that is sold there are a dozen or do cheaper phones sold. That being said I have to agree that tmobile did drop the ball at an event like this. CES is a product driven show were companies show off the goods not tout service. But I doubt if it has any effect on overall sales.

    • moneyman

I agree. The only reason I got into cell phones i because I work for the company so I wanted to be “up to date” with all the info about the phones and release dates. As a customer, I didn’t know anything about phones at all except what was the hottest phone on tmobile. Most people are followers and we do whatever they see other people do, which is why alot of people got the iphone. They expect the product to be nice because everyone else has one.

      • Mo

I agree with you alot of people are sheep. Although I’ve been rockin the smartphones since the early days of the WM pocket pc’s lol. It’s just more convenient to have something small and mobile that does everything that my laptop does.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_GRIFVUHCR7SCF2J4ACDIVSVGJM Hilton T.Y

Those others are dumb sheep. lol. They deserve to be stuck on dumb phones. moto razr

    • J0eY

I disagree I am a T-Mobile Authorized Dealer Manager and I can guarantee you the common person is becoming more and more tech savvy. Especially when there is a Verizon store two doors down, When they are there seeing all these dazzling phones where does my sales team reach for the Vibrant? OK they have a newer, faster, better version. The MyTouch 4g, well that’s still a step short of the HTC Thunderbolt. Sorry to say it, but I couldn’t disagree more.

      • Anonymous

Are you retarded or something? What makes you think T-Mobile won’t get a Vibrant 2? We NEVER heard of the new Samsung model AT&T got until THEY announced it. Both of these phones won’t launch until at the least, Q2. They’re not coming out next week. Get a grip already.

“All I know is that with 25+ 4G devices and 2 announced, I’M LEAVING IN 2013 IF I DON’T GET THE DETAILS ON EVERY ONE OF THESE DEVICES AT THE END OF TODAY.”

Make up your mind and STFU.

        • pantlesspenguin

Erm, concentrate and read that again. It’s obviously a joke.

        • Anonymous

Actually I did. The caps should have tipped it off but I missed it.

      • Anonymous

I’m with you. Its pretty obvious that the era of the dumbphone is on a decline and Smartphones are taking over. Maybe right now your mommy and daddy still rock a Razr but how many Razr type phones do you really think will be selling in the next 2 years? !@#$ Verizon and ATT but they are setting the bar (and who knows Sprint and TMO may catch up at MWC) much higher in the cellphone industry with their upcomong line up and they loud and clearly let it be known. The good thing is that those will not be out for quite some time and TMO could announce AND release some 4g Superphones before most of those announced phones even come out. The ball is in our court.

  • Anonymous

All I know is that with 24 4G devices and 2 announced, I’M LEAVING IN 2013 IF I DON’T GET THE DETAILS ON EVERY ONE OF THESE DEVICES AT THE END OF TODAY.

(I know everybody hates Samsung) But maybe the Vibrant Plus wasnt announced or hasnt been leaked yet because it is having a Dual Core slapped into it. VZW and ATT are rushing to get phones out and probly thinks a single core is sufficient. Vibrant Plus with DC is where my money will go. Oh and they probly wanna get that 42Mbps radio in there too, which neither announced Tablet has in them right?

    • Anonymous

I hate Samsung once (at least on regular phones), but NS gained my favor.
      It’s simply NOT Samsung type.

Am I mistaken if I think T-Mobile announced the LG Zoom or star…whatever its called?

    • Anonymous

Only thing TMO themselves announced was the Dell Streak 7 and the LG G-Slate.

      • Anonymous

Ok. So are they getting the 2X for sure cause I saw a sight report we were getting the pg black the really thin phone with the “vibrant” display and at&t was getting the 3X because it had the 800 2100 art radio and the black has the 1700 T radios

Did one of the best selling T-Mobile phone, MyTouch 4, appear on any show like CES?

    • Claude474

Why would the MyTouch 4G appear at CES? This phone is already out there. This is mainly for new stuff.

      • Anonymous

        He meant past tense.

No the MT4G just popped. To the masses atleast.

        • Anonymous

Frankly, NONE of the phone showed on CES is my favorite. I am more inclined to unlocked phones than branded. The only exception is MyTouch 4 because it’s really good and I need the wifi calling capability, and it has 1GB for your applications (used only 200MB so far).
I may consider the LG Optimus 2x, but I have to wait May-June and call Loyalty again to get it (save a little it $ without contract).
I am with “unlocked phone plan”.

  • Petey

An iPhone with T-Mobile 4g would be niceee!!! Ill be set to go. But after looking at that LG dual core phone… wow!

    • Anonymous

      Hopefully.
Let’s see a big slaughter towards AT&T starts once VZW iPhone released.

    • Rollingheads11

i agree an iphone would b nice but that LG is really on my mind it looks kik-ass

  • Jack

Bought the mytouch 4g last week. Upgraded from a sidekick lx so huge improvement for me. Unfortunately il probably never get to take advantage if it considering they only have EDGE here… Come on tmo at least give us 3g…pretty please? 22701 zip code

I am so disappointed at Tmo’s lack of Android Phone announcements at this event. Even with the LG announcement, we are left wondering IF it will come to Tmo or not and how much it will cost if it does. I was hoping for Tmo to really *own* this event. Instead, I was wondering if Tmo was even in attendance!

Because of the penchant to EOL a phone at six months, it is keeping me from seriously considering the current crop of phones to replace my existing fiasco of a phone. If a phone debuted in October of 2010, it begins to be “in EOL territory” around March 2011- right around the time that the LG 2X is said to debut (late March early April). So, this makes me leery of looking at the two top-tier phones for fear of the loss of support and other things that could follow the EOL syndrome. The lack of announcement of new phones just makes this process more arduous. I would like to do my “due diligence” on my next phone so that I can avoid the mine field that I have had in my existing and previous Android phones. It wasn’t the OS, it was the overlay that made my foray into Android a horror IMHO. I refuse to buy the current stock and be stuck and I have no new phones to research. It’s a mad-house experience.

4.3 inch screens are a dying trend. to say that bigger screens are the trend is retarded. my office manager returned his droid X because it was way too big, wouldnt fit in his pocket and hard to hold. if ur squinting at your phone, maybe u just need glasses, not a bigger screen. and really if ur spending that much time staring at your phone to watch movies and games 24/7, u seriously need a life. i know someone will retardedly say that the screens will “just keep getting bigger”. really ??? u mean to tell me that the shrinking tech that made cell phones go from those giant monster cell phones that only corporate folk had to fitting in my pocket and getting lost is now gonna reverse and the screens will keep getting bigger to the point that im carrying a laptop sized screen around all day, really ?? some people, the “status symbol” people want a monster 4.3 inch phone because they feel it impresses people, those are not the “geeks” or the “tech-savy” those are the tweens and the losers that u say supposedly kno nothing of tech. well the true geek in me, and all REAL geeks dont care how big our screens are, all we worry about is what they can do, how much power we can have on slim pocketable device that doesnt scream “i got a $500 phone in my pocket, please rob me”. My G2 can best any of your giant “look at my phone baby” phones. and thats all i care about. and I will patiently wait till Oct 2012 when my current contract is up and proudly pick up my G3, which will undoubtedly still be the best thing offered from any of the cell phone companies. and im sure that all u whiny bitches will still be here bitching about “if tmo dont shape up im leaving, i swear i will this time”…. tmo ftw

I want a dual-core capable of utilizing HSPA+. If it’s running the latest version of Android, that’d be nice, but not mandatory (unless it’s like my hated Moto Cliq – pretty much permanently disabled due to MotoBlur!) If my new phone has NFC, that’d be nice too. BUT, if it’s dual-core and running Android 2.2 over HSPA+, I’d be happy.
    Nothing more, nothing less.

25 phones sound great, but if they’re all low end phones, I will NOT be sticking around to watch this ship sink. TMO needs to wake up asap

    • Jonathan

I agree with you Hue. I’ll give T-Mobile till maybe the middle of the year (depending on what comes down through the pike in the next 2-3 months) if it is ANYTHING like what last year was like and CES this year, I will be jumping ship right with you.
