Samsung Vibrant 4G Hits The FCC

Oh the FCC, you lovely supply of endless information has just seen fit to grace us with the SGH-T959V, otherwise known as the Samsung Vibrant 4G. As Samsung SGH-T959 is the model number of the current Samsung Vibrant, the SGH-959V makes perfect sense as the successor and Vibrant 4G. Of course, the on board AWS doesn’t hurt the argument either. Also, it just looks like  Vibrant 4G. That’s all we have here!

I was having issues with MMS with Nero V5. So I just went with Mac Nut R14.

Some people suggests if you do have a problem with MMS to take the mms.apk from Nero V3 and push it out to your phone.

I don’t understand why they would release a Vibrant 4G, when we all know the second versions of the Galaxy S are soon to be released. Why even waste marketing resources on this, if you can potentially get a better version towards the end of the year? I would rather they concentrate on updating the phones they DO have to updated versions of Android. It’s nice that we will be getting another device, but this just seems a little lazy from T-Mobile and Samsung. Instead of actually fighting for quality top tier phones, they just release a re-warmed version of a phone that should have been released with these specs to begin with? I don’t get it.

    • Babycharns

I completely agree! They shouldn’t waste the time, especially when the camera Still doesn’t have flash! What’s the point?

Not worth it if Galaxy S2 (Vibrant 2?) is dual-core and will be here in the coming months and if it has HSPA+21, with a Super Amoled+ Display.. and of course.. not be so.. ‘plasticky’.

  • Anonymous

Why would anyone buy a 4G, quad cores are around the corner. Atrix functionality will be the standard. And best of all, why consider Samsung, when you know you wont get updates from them, cause they spend their time just testing!

    • BilliBolas

Why does anyone expect me to take them seriously when they mention the Atrix as a serious phone? The Atrix is running Motoblur… So no matter what they tell you about what it can do, MotoBlur is the metaphorical boot on the Lamborghini of a phone.

      • hi!

it can also be turned off….nice try

T-Mobile IS getting several high end phones this year. You will see the likes of them to be displayed at REAL mobile industry shows like Mobile Congress and CTIA.

We did see a lot of Tablet Hoopla at CES but the real mobile industry specific shows are yet to come.

Understand that every day there are new users who become eligible for an upgrade. Also not all consumers are looking specifically for dual core device who may be shopping for new service. They just want a cool looking device that functions well as they see fit.

The majority of T-Mo’s customer base are looking for value type of services. The minority of us gadget geeks who choose T-Mobile should remember that.

      @ Yessir

I’m definently looking forward to MWC and CTIA this year.

      • hi!

me too. Then, after TMobile drops the ball horrible there like they did at CES people like you won’t have some lame excuse of, “wait just one/two more months….just wait! always wait! maybe a Cliq 3 will come out!!! keep waiting…eternally!!!”

        • Anonymous

Disgruntled? Well I hear you BUT T-mobile didnt exactly drop the ball. They just didnt announce their phones just like Sprint didnt. Best believe both Sprint AND T-Mobile will be announcing their phones at MWC or CTIA and hopefully it will be sooner than later.

Oh and by “people like me” I hope that you mean an optimistic individual.

That is a bunch of bull. T-Mobile needs to bring in the best available hardware available to the industry. If they don’t they will be looked at as a 2nd rate Carrier. When news outlets start talking about the latest and greatest devices the Carrier who has these great devices get all the mention and advertisement. That in fact will bring new customers and sell many phones, both the great ones and the entry level ones. Saying crap like T-Mobile’s customer base is value phones is an easy way to explain not going after the best hardware available. I disagree with you completely, great devices sells phones, both entry level and the best. It will also give the Carrier plenty of ink and publicity and that is exactly what T-Mobile needs.

What company has all of these strong phones? I would easily say T-Mobile has the second best phone line-up behind Verizon if you factor in their projected slate of phones. Sprint’s best phone is the EVO which launched last Spring. They have had strikeout after strikeout since then. The EVO was built around the 1.3mp FFC and the 8mp camera in the back and their Shift is just a rebranded G2 with a UI and the same chip = Crap. Even the EVO seems better than it is until you actually use it. The UI makes it lag like noones business, the “4G” clear provides rapes your battery life and must be turned on like Wi-Fi (WTF?) ATT has absolutely nothing behind the iphone and please dont say the Atrix. Its running MotoBlur people please be serious. They still dont have a 4″ or better phone with a FFC, and none of their phones are currently 4G enabled. The Atrix is HSPA+ 14.4. You guys complain about T-Mobile using HSPA+ as 4G but you realize it is the only solution that allows 3G phones to benefit from 4G. Verizon and Sprint’s 3G networks are the slowest of all the four FACT, you T-Mobile haters trolling a T-Mobile blog really need to get a life.

  • Really, no 4g

This device will come complete with the newest, er almost newest, android operating system, FROYO! But don’t get to excited about upgrades people, we are still working on the Galaxy S upgrade to FROYO.

No thanks Samsung, I an not biting anymore until your development team gets their act in gear.

What about a Nexus One 4G? Is that HTC’s fault for bringing out another nexus so soon and with 4G added? Nope. In both cases that ould be Googles wrong doing, not Samsung.
