Dell Needs 46 Seconds To Sell You On Venue Pro

Dell believes that in 46 seconds they can convince you to buy a Venue pro and well, at least you can actually buy the Venue Pro now. It’s a catchy albeit quick video and showcases a little hardware, a little software and a lot of purple. It’s only 46 seconds, give it a whirl.

        • Louer Adun

And how many Windows Mobile phones have 4″+ screens… HD2, HD7, and now the Venue Pro. And we have not a single 4.3″ Android device for T-Mobile (not including my rooted HD2)

  • Mohammad

  • Vibrant Addict

if i didn’t just get the mytouch 4g this would be the phone i would use im a android loyalest but i like wp7

  • Dellpro

They ruined this with the keyboard. Adds needless bulk. Keys are too cramped anyways to be an effective alternative to a good touchscreen keyboard.

We’re embarking is 2011. Let the keyboard fanatics use the Touch Pro series or RIM devices.

  • SicTr4nsit

They must not want to sell it very badly.

My iPhones safari browser, I see a black box that says, “This Video is not authorized for playback on this device.”

Someone on their end should get on that… Lol

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Max-Magana/1129472245 Max Magana

Oh, silly Dell, for thinking that Flash was still the most popular standard for embedding videos in websites.

  • Anonymous

    NOPE! not me

  • Anonymous

The threw together a CGI video in hopes it’ll prevent their device from being forgotten to the land of irrelevancy…

  • Anonymous

Lol, nice try, Dell. Come again….! :)

  • Anonymous

I think they made the screen slide up because most of WP7 applications don’t work in landscape mode but all of them work in portrait. Some of the animations during transitions looked very choppy. I think their “get in, get out, and back to life” motto for their commercial is contradictory due to all the needless animations it takes to get to some applications. On the HD7 if you hit the HTC Hub, it shoots you threw clouds for 5 seconds before getting to the content and when you exit the application it shoots you out of the cloud for more 5 seconds, not really get in and get out if you ask me.

    • johnp

The HTC Hub isn’t really Windows 7, though, is it. That’s a separate interface unique to HTC.

  • nnndayy

The phone look B.I.G as hell on this commercial

  • gPhunk

46 seconds? It took me .46 seconds to see that it was a Windows phone and hit CLOSE

    • Jproctor1995

Could of saved a minute of your life by not reading the story at all….

    • SirMac

Dell and android have absolutely nothing in common. They wouldnt even consider android os on there phones, better yet, M$ probably wont let them,

  • Grammatica di Polizia

Dell lost me when they would not warranty a 24″ monitor that had a defective-designed chip. It was all over the Net, people complaining about it, but Dell told us all to pack rosary beads.

Also, I had a friend whose Dell notebook simply stopped working one day, about a month out of warranty. For a college paper she was reading about Etruscans one minute, pop, the display went dark.

So no more Dell products for me. I vote with my wallet and have a long, long memory when it comes to boycotting.

On this device, I think that “portrait” slider keyboard is a big fail too. That’s where the Palm Pre went wrong and it’s misguided for others to make phones with those kind of keyboards.

The only device that keyboard belongs on is the BlackBerry, and that’s only because people are used to BlackBerry handsets having a vertical keyboard, or whatever the experts in here call that. :)

  • X-Dell Employee

I hate Dell. They sell shoddy products, provide shoddy service, and don’t care about their customers. I speak from experience because I was once a Dell-badged employee in their Home Sales department. Their sales managers actually promoted deceptive sales tactics and the company did not hold itself accountable. Plus, MIchael Dell is a sleaze who would only talk to the most attractive female employees he could spot on the sales Floor. He’d ignore other employees. The problem with Michael Dell is he achieved run-away success before he gained real-life experience as a mature adult, and the way he runs his company shows he’s trapped in his UT freshman year paradigm.

    • Grammatica di Polizia

I too have heard bad things about Mr. Dell, but I am unable to comment since I don’t know things first hand. Thanks for posting this most interesting of revelations.

As far as Dell’s products, I think way back they used to make great desktops; I have a few that are still working since we bought them in 2003. But I heard Dell products suffered in quality when Mr. Dell wanted to become the world’s biggest computer maker.

And when I suffered from the defective monitor, that was very expensive when I bought it, I can say as true your statement about Dell’s horrible customer service. But more important, I was disappointed that Dell would not back up its product. A search in Google will show that many, many people too complain about Dell’s poor customer service and defective products.

There’s brand names I trust, but Dell is not one of them. Your statement makes me feel better, that it was not just in my head about Dell’s rude customer agents.

Thank you again for your information.

it look pretty awesome, cant wait to see how the android version look.

  • Anonymous

Nope, didn’t sell me on it. It still runs WP7 – Microsoft… No way.

    • Jakedawg33

      WP7 is better than any

  • K-rock

I like the WP7 OS. It is a very good start but it really needs another year of development. For example, if you get this Dell phone don’t expect to hook up to WIFI that doesn’t broadcast a SID. WP7 doesn’t allow that.

    • jiiiimmmmy

      dell fixe that problem

  • http://twitter.com/collinrupp Collin Rupp

I had the HD7 for about a week. Great idea, I love how minimalistic it is. The social network integration worked perfectly. But it lacked a lot of major features. The market didn’t have a search (that I could find) and it takes a lot of steps the change any settings. The speaker phone was very poor, and no SD card, what the heck!? I would vote no-go until they do a service pack two (haha)

    • Makoute

Not only the speaker phone, but overall it was hard to hear the person on the other end of the call.
