T-Mobile HD2 Receives Unboxing Treatment

The last time we saw the HTC HD2 getting unboxed was all the way back in October 2009 with some magical trance music.  Now, the guys over at BGR have scored some unboxing snapshots of the highly anticipated handset with T-Mobile branding and all.     Wow, that box looks 110% better than the box my Touch Pro2 came in. The TP2 box was about the same quality as a prepaid phone from K-Mart.

    OK, how can you tell the real fans of this phone, we keep starting at these pics over and over and over and over. Looking at every detail, over and over and over and over again.

    Then we go do some chores and come back and look at the pics over and over and over again.

    The we get some sleep. Wake up, then look at these pics over and over and over and over, again.

    Then check our phones and e-mail to make sure we did not miss T-Mo’s contacting us to let us pre-order the phone. While multi-tasking, looking at this pics over and over and over, again.

        No, douche. I was very patient. I just bought it a couple weeks ago. And I know I will be getting free updates to the OS as they come out. And now that I have the nexus to hold me over, I can wait patiently until WMP7 comes out and then wait patiently some more till they iron out all kinks.

        Until its confirmed that it is eligible for the upgrade path, its dead in the water.

        Nexus works great btw. Learn to use less exclamation points. !!!lol!!1 der!@!!!

      If you consider waiting for a good phone such as this one for years while being stuck with a Nokia 3220 (Look it up) impatient. If anything, I’ve been extremely patient waiting on Tmobile to start getting good phones.

      Anyway, WinMo 6.5 is fine with me as I didn’t really like what I saw with WP7. I’ll be using a custom OS Rom that integrates with WinMo 6.5 called “SPB Mobile Shell 3.5″ anyway so I won’t be worrying about that too much. Maybe you should look it up and be amazed.

    Someone tell me why T-Mobile refuses to advertise this phone, that is a great looking package, with a gel? case to boot. They would sell a TON if this was shown off. Guess they dont like money, in which case why not give us the phone for free?

    I didn’t know this phone would have Visual Voicemail… are there any other T-Mobile phones with Visual Voicemail..if so, how does it work…
    By the way, has anyone heard if this phone will be a T-mobile store exclusive or if I can purchase it from best buy?

      i have the touch pro 2 and there is a cab that has visual voicemail so im sure it can be used on the hd2. i believe for this cab to work you have to have the g1 data plan which i already had on my account. i think you can login at tmobile.com and change your phone to a g1 and add there internet that way too. you will then get an option to activate visual voicemail.

        and the TP2 w/ WM6.5.. i have it working on my TP2 (i bought it before the 6.5 upgrade).. the cab will work for any WM phone.. just enable it on my.t-mobile.com

      All the T-Mo Android phones have visual voicemail. I have it on my Nexus One. Once I get a new voicemail, it’s automatically downloaded to the phone and shows me a notice that I have a message. Then I just launch the app and pick what message I want to play from the list. It also lets me pick what part of a message I want to listen to if I need to hear something over again just by tapping on the progress bar. I can pause the message too. While the player is up, it shows the name, phone number, date, time and how long the message is. It even shows a person’s picture if you have one assigned to them. There are also buttons for delete, speaker and callback on the player screen. After you are done listening to a message, it’s easy to switch to other messages without having to go back to the list just by swiping the top part of the screen left or right. It’s pretty handy.

      I have visual voice mail on my BB 8900 via os upgrade to 5.0 and selecting to turn it on when os upgrade was completed. I clicked on VVM button and tmo message popped up to say my account did not have VVM active, and would I like it turned on and added to my account, I chose yes and that’s it. VVM is voice mail with a media player interface of sorts. It may give more options than regular vm.

      Because it’s the proper name. The HTC HD was released in 2008 and this is the upgrade to the HD.

    GREENSBORO NC HAS IT! I went by the tmobile store in Greensboro @ the 4 seasons mall.. I didn’t think they had it but as soon as I asked about it.. the rep(dustin) went and got one of the 2 demo phones they received today. The phone is indeed huge basicially bc of the screen of course and super thin.. it had a great feel to itand the touch screen responded very quick! The store rep(like the rest) didn’t know about the price and when exactly it would be available.. BUT I definitely gave him my info and got his card so I could get one once its available even though I plan to order via phone.. which ever way it becomes available first. Bottom line The phone is a BEAST! I can’t express how much the phone is definitely a quality purchase.. just waitin in line like the rest of us!

    Nice, thank you TMOnews and BGR for providing us with all your informative, newsbreaking and completely friggin mind teasing views and info about the HD2.

    Reading about the release date and news of it coming to T-Mobile is one thing, but actually seeing the finished product exists and is in circulation just made me want this phone even more. I just broke (not on purpose, although my wife thinks so) my G1 and have resorted to using my daughters bumble bee looking motorola phone so now I really cant wait for this thing to drop. I know most often the product cant meet the hype but this one is going to be pretty damn close.

    I’ll see all you “HD2oids” in line on the 24th, I’ll be the one with the lawn chair and sleeping bag.

    A couple of questions. Does this support bluetooth headphones? And if so, what heaphones would you recommend that will come with a mic? I do alot of walking and talking and i have a unlocked iPhone 3g with the mic in ear heaphones. I dont like walking with the phone in my ear. Im finally getting rid of it because I have grown to dislike Apple and this phone is sooooooo sweet. Thanks in advance!!

      Most likely it does. I remember for the short time I had the MyTouch 3G I had a jabra headphone and was able to listen to pandora from it. I would assume it’s the same for this…I hope I’m right. ;)

    It supports bluetooth.. don’t know about the headset part.. even the tmobile website states that…. all I do now is keep playin the videos from when I had it in my hands.. the store rep was watchin transformers when he showed it to me.. I asked him how the battery life was and he stated he didn’t know for sure since he’s just been watchin the transformer movie on it. Guarantee I will be going by there when I get off tomorrow so I can play with it some more and also peep whatever demo display they got set up.. this phone is truely below the main stream radar.. I can’t understand why?! Zero marketing and its 2 weeks before launch?! Oh and post ya email and I will send the video I took of it..

    When i log on to see if anything had been mentioned and saw this i walked straight out of class to come home and see all of this sexy beast one my 27″ pc screen because my 9700 was not doing it for me. The box is maybe the best looking box that I have ever seen for any device and the added skin is a great addition also. I can not wait for this to drop. And tchez27 i will be sitting next to you with my sleeping bag and lawn chair and i will bring the beer.

      No, it’s not. This is the T-Mobile USA packaging and hardware.

      No, it’s the US version. Both the Euro and US versions come with the same design of charger (wall wart with standard USB port)…but the Euro has the round posts and the US has our blades.

      No it isn’t. This is the US version. You can tell by looking at the Call and End/Power buttons. They have color, where the Euro version isn’t colored. The buttons on the Euro version are all the same white color. The pic of the charger you see doesn’t have the prongs in place, yet(prongs are removable to attach ones for different countries).
