Many thanks with regard to the information, I am truly looking forward to the Samsung Epic 4G, although I have constantly been really curious in cool gadgets, for a long time I have already been looking for my 1st smartphone and I did not acquire it yet. The actual explanations are very simple: each and every several of months there is a revolution in the marketplace (difficult to decide!) and prices here in Brazil are pretty abusive. Maybe I would enter this world in great style with a Samsung Epic 4G. I hope so.

I got an email from TMOBILE with instructions on how to flash the new ROM with the Voice Plus Beta. The process was easy, but now Google Maps and other Apps are not working properly. At TMOBILE Forum they say maybe they are going to make a new ROM with Voice Plus Beta and a ROM just in case you want to go back to the original ROM.

Here are my impressions about T- mobile G1 phone:-
G1 slide out QWERTY keyboard, support for the fast 3G networks, GPS and Bluetooth technology, offers a number of free apps through Android Market and much more. The compass mode works absolutely well, spin it in any direction it will move fine.
The phone of my dreams, I have it for a while now and it is still in really good condition.

i have had 3 diff android tmobile phones. mytouch, nexus one, cliq. even though the g1 is the slowest of them all, not by a horrible and significant difference, im considering using it till a "new g1" is released. something about it i really like. the large keyboard with dedicated number keys is also nice. if they came out with a updated g1 thats slimmer, but with the same hardware design, good battery life, maybe slight modifications to make it look "sexier". faster processor, latest android os. i would consider it over the nexus one. i love the nexus one but i can not stand all touch screen text messaging. i hope for an updated g1

The G1 was the demo phone for Android well before it launched in Nov of '08 So realistically it is close to 2 years old. Lets be honest. (And I do have a G1 sitting on my desk.) The G1 IS a prototype phone. The thing's specs and quality/build wise is a joke compared to the Droid. Hell pulling it out of my jacket pocket it snagged on the liner and broke off a piece of plastic on the edge of the button bezel. G1 should have never made it to market. Droid should have been the launch device and no the tech in Droid isn't revolutionary. The reality is that Google wanted a cheap intro phone to deploy to developers and that is exactly what the G1 is. An intro phone who's successor (Droid) never made it to T Mobile and here we sit with no other keyboard options other then the freaking cliq. *sighs*

Yeah! I was accepted for the beta. I just received an email confirming that they have my info and that the OTA updates will be soon along with a link.. although the link doesn't work yet.... but hopefully it will sometime and before the beta starts.

Will this work with Google Voice? I'd like my business calls to use my Google Voice number & voicemail, and my personal calls to use my Tmo number and this new voicemail. Possible?

G1 = first Android device ever. G1 users = early adopters of a new technology. That is all.
