bestbuy_cliqxt_nuron

If you’re one that often purchases your electronic products from Best Buy (who wouldn’t?), it looks like both the Motorola Cliq XT and Nokia Nuron are headed to your nearest Best Buy location. The Cliq XT coming in at a $449.99 retail price tag, will be $69.99 with a 2 year contract upgrade (Existing customers) and $99.99 with a new 2 year contract activation (New customers). On the other hand the Nokia Nuron (aka XpressMusic 5230), will cost you $299.99 retail, and on contract the entry level handset will run you $29.99 with a 2 year contract for both existing and new customers. Note, Best Buy contract pricing may differ from T-Mobile pricing. We’re still expecting the Nuron for a March 17th release and the Cliq XT launch on March 10th officially from T-Mobile.

Well I am game for the nokia, as my son wants one for his birthday. But not from “bestbuy” wow what an oxymoron that name is, when their employees no nothing and could care less about you. Go to newegg or hell even walmart in a week and be rewarded with a better prices and better service. Hope the nokias browser is ready to roll or ill have to save some dough and shock him in a month with the hd2. Oh and did I mention bestbuy sucks! Well now I have!

Wtf Mytouch 2.0 costs more than the Nexus…WOW

    • Nobody cares

      hilarious.

  • bing bang

Is that Mytouch 2.0 the one that just came out? 1.2?

  • Chuong

The Nokia Nuron (I like the 5230 name better) MSRP price seems a little high. You can get the better-spec 5800 XM for less.

I wouldn’t mind picking up the Cliq Xt for $69.99 it actually sounds like a nice phone… atleast when compaired to the other Android phones (except for the Nexus One). I hear it has a track pad which IMO beats the track ball on the MyTouch 1.2. Also it has a nice camera at 5mp with flash and it does have swype which makes having a phone without an actual keyboard worth having. If Motorola could just promise Android 2.1 in the near future I’d have to say this is a steal. I think to make this phone complete they need muti touch on it. I was thinking about upgrading to the Cliq from my G1 and the Cliq Xt sounds like a better phone even if it has the same specs. More memory than my G1… a better camera…. no moving part so I don’t have to worry about my keyboard squeeking. The only real downside is Android 1.5 which BTW… what’s the difference between 1.5 and 1.6 anyways?

$29.99, people should snatch this phone up over the horrific TAP. I wonder what the T-Mobile pricing will be for these..

  • JBLmobileG1needsaclue

JBL, it supports multi-touch. This phone has pinch to zoom. It also has adobe flash.

  • chaoscentral

wtf is up with those suggested retail prices??? CLIQ for $549?!?! When I bought mine from T-Mobile it was $399… Where the hell does all that extra huge markup come from? Best Buy???

    • mmaxxsooner

      That’s the “bestbuy” LOL

    • David

Best Buy’s “retail” prices are always outrageous on phones. If you ask me, that is not a best buy.

  • David

Lmao! Look at the Equinox retail price, or flex pay no contract price….$299.99! You can buy that for $159.99 at a t-mobile retail store on no contract. Best buy=worst buy for retail pricing!

  • JBLmobileG1

If the XT does indeed have mutilated touch I am all over it because that means my emulators could work with the on screen buttons. Also I did hear that it had Adobe Flash lite…. anyone know if July could run on that? This might be my next Android phone since I don’t see the Motorola or any other Android phone for that later coming out anytime soon. Plus its going to be at a good price. I still don’t understand… with even the few extras that it does have… why is it less than the original cliq? I can’t see paying more just for the keyboard when the XT seems to offer more in the end. Mutitouch… a camera flash… Abobe Flash… and a TrackPad….oh and I forgot to mention Swype which is actually pretty good. Not bad if you ask me…. not bad at all.

  • JBLmobileG1

July = July. Don’t know how or why I put July. Will July work on Adobe Flash for the XT?

  • JBLmobileG1

    July = H U L U. Don’t know how or why I put July. Will H U L U work on Adobe Flash for the XT?

  • FILA

BestBuy is a fucking joke, play with there shit there but buy online or somewhere else

  • Dalton

$550 fucking dollars for a Cliq? Are they INSANE? Wow. Yet another overly priced phone. Awesome.

    • JD

The article says $450, but you’re right. Anyone still think the HD2 will come in at $500?

  • TJ2320

Thats Cool And all but BestBuy must be crazy charging that much for phones.. especially when even at Retail price they’re cheaper buying straight from T-Mobile.
