Why would you want a Mytouch slide when qwerty keyboards are going the way of the Dodo bird. Swype is the future. It's 2 to 3 times faster than qwerty and it's fun to use.

Tried to order one from T-mobile site. They don't even show it. What kind of stupidity is that? Does this phone actually exist? Where the hell do you get one? God knows T-Mobile has spent enough money advertising the damn thing.

While this does carry some merit, rooting does allow you to overclock, and therefore squeezing a few more drops of performance out of the older phones. Now, let's say they come up with a version that taxes the droid chipset, then are you saying that this will theoretically work on a g1, and might I add that at first when rooting you would lose bt and wifi connectivity.

That's pretty amazing Josh, seeing as how the G1 will be getting 2.0 at the end of January.

No offense Josh... but Tmobile PDA support is a bunch of idiots. I have learned this after talking with them since having my G1. When I first had issues with my phone they wanted me to reformat it when honestly it wasn't needed. I don't really think they know what they are talking about half of the time. They are about as much help as some foreign customer care rep. reading from a script.... and you know they might just be doing that. And if they claim that newer software can't run on the current hardware then how come some hackers can figure it out by rooting their phones. I am sure they'd tell you multi touch isn't possible either. My guess is its all about money... and if they keep upgrading older hardware then some people may not feel the need to upgrade their phones in which case Tmobile would lose money. I learned this from owning my MDA.... they didn't want to upgrade our Windows so they released the Wing which was almost exactly the same only it had the newer WinMobile. If Tmobile and Microsoft had released a newer o/s for the MDA the Wing wouldn't have been needed. So.... I find that it isn't software or hardware related... but more so money related. True the newer o/s may require a more powerful processor in the future.... and if anything the phone will need to have the same or similar specs as the Nexus One since it is the actual "Google Phone" of Google Phones. Someday in order to get all the features etc. Running at full speed you'll need the specs of their device. Not Tmobile and Google's device... just Google's device since they I am sure know what their plans are as how the Google Android o/s will evolve and what it will become. And who knows... maybe they will be like Tmobile and already have plans for another Google only device that will replace the Nexus One. If so... as with Apple and its iphone it will have just enough extra for people to scream "I want it" only to have plans for the third device to have yet again something that the first or second should have had all along. Its the way of business. Add just a little bit to the next one so people will want to pick it up. I am sure I myself could create the ultimate phone but then if I did that who would want anything else? I'd be out of buisness.
