I totally agree, I was reviewing all the android phones currently available in the US and I was astonished by the fact the Tmobile phones seem to be so far behind in the sophistication factor. To be the first company to offer these phones and now to be left in the dust by the introduction of the Sprint Hero and Verizon Droid which are obviously more attractive phones

Rather than just selling the N900 I wish they sold a bunch of different unlocked and unsubsidized (high end) smartphones period. How awesome would it be to be able to go in to your local Tmob store and pick up whatever the new hotness is sans a contract or all of the bloatware the carriers put on it, maybe payed out monthly with a Even More Plus plan? Just my two cents...

This is by far the best article written on this site to date. They should totally focus on having cool tech , -- after all, those are the folks who hold important tech website/blogs and have influence on the media.

T-Mobile has always been perfect for unlocked phones with their native 1900 band and cheap data plans. The 1700/2100 AWS band for 3G has been thought by many to be a sticking point, but the network is totally uncongested and ripe for data monsters like the N900. And yes, the new Even More Plus plans are wonderful first steps toward adopting the European model.

Unfortunately I think T-Mobile made a major gaffe by releasing a stripped down Magic as the myTouch3G. The geeks that built the enthusiasm for Android deserved a full 288mb RAM Magic or the Hero with AWS bands, not a 192mb RAM Magic.

I like this guys style.

att = iphone poofster sheep
tmobile = open source geek friendly data hungry progressives?

While that sounds great in a perfect world, I highly doubt the suits at TMO see it that way. Would be fun though.
