I have been a customer of T-mobile for 6 years. My G1 died so I called to get a new phone. Well guess what I had to pay over $400.00 for the phone.. I was not up for an upgrade.. Guess being a long time customer means NOTHING!!!! Customer Service Whats that????? Nice for all the new customers who get the deal!

This PHONE ROCKS!!! THE APPS ARE UNREAL AND THE UPDATES ARE CONTINUIOUS I HAVE FRIENDS WHO HAVE THE I PHONE AND THEY WANT MY PHONE NOW!!! THE MY TOUCH IS THE BEST PHONE ON THE MARKET RIGHT NOW. JUST LIKE ANY PHONE NOW DAYS THERE IS A PRICE. AND YES THERE ARE NEW PHONES COMING OUT RIGHT AND LEFT BUT THIS PHONE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT. I HAVE YET TO BUY AN APP AND THE INTERNET IS SUPER FAST. I PAID 299 for my phone and it is worth every cent. THE PRICES YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT IS IF YOU ARE A NEW CUSTOMER. I LOVE THE FACT THAT THIS PHONE IS SMALLER BUT THE SCREEN IS A VERY NICE SIZE. THIS PHONE IS FAR BETTER THAN REVIEWS BY CNET ETC GIVE IT> I WOULD GIVE THIS PHONE 4 1/2 STARS and the only reason I won’t give it a 5 is because of the lack of MP4 videos but it has amazing apps for facebook twitter and myspace. ROCK ON MYTOUCH!!

I would LOVE the myTouch. The commercial is painful to wacth because I have the W233 Renew which sucks terribly. Its basically a G1 without a physical keyboard, but its a lot prettier. Which would be the better choice. And wouldn’t the prices drop to at least $100 by November?

Do not buy this phone, I have had nothing but problems with it from the start. To list a few…

1) Most sluggish, unresponsive platform I’ve ever used. iPhone surpasses it by far.
2) The touch screen accounts for some of the unresponsiveness, barely noticing when you touch the screen.
3) Text messages decide at times they do not want to send, for hours at a time.
4) Apps are very weak, lacking substance.

There are many problems I encounter on a daily basis, and I feel users should know this in the midst of all the MyTouch Hype.

It really is not a next generation phone, and barely meets if at all, the standards set by the iPhone.

For the money, I would not recommend. Switched from Sidekick, worst decision of my life.

I got my MyTouch with the Kickoff24 promo code as well as some great service credits from my Retention Rep. I upgraded two lines (and I still had 13 months left on my current contract) and only paid the equivalent of like $40 for each phone with no upgrade fee. If you’re a long time customer, you just need to talk to customer retention and they will definitely take care of you. These are like the higher-level reps. I was just nice to them and expressed how much I hated my current phone and really wanted to jump into the current millennium. They understood and did what they could to hook me up.

And I like the phone a ton. I have an iPod touch and used an iPhone multiple times, and this thing is worlds better (except for the keyboard, but you just need to download betterkeyboard and you’re all set). Once our phones are updated to Android 2.0, this device will just come alive even more.

Love it or hate it data requirement? Data requirement for a smartphone is an industry standard. In fact, T-Mobile was the last carrier to initiate this requirement, and I really don’t blame them. They were losing a lot of money by not having the requirement, not to mention several customers were buying smartphones and then hating them because they can’t do anything that the phone was designed to do. You really shouldn’t be buying a phone of this type if you aren’t planning on using it’s features, which definitely includes internet, email and GPS…which can ONLY happen with a data package. This, paired with the fact that their data package is the lowest costing of all the major carriers out there, leaves me dumbfounded as to why people are complaining! Just my 2 cents.
