I agree that Rosie(Sense UI) itself is smooth as pie... The reason why is that the problems on the original Hero have now been fix... So we are seeing Rosie (Sense UI) v1.5... And since the HTC Tattoo is just a Hero Light it's perfect for running it... But it sucks that HTC threw a huge monkey wrench in front of this phone, which you can see on this vid... RESISTIVE = FAIL...

I was all ready to convert all my plan phones to this phone since I am not in a contract at the moment & this should be the cheapest HTC Android phone out there... I have been waiting for a new Android phone to get into a contract for over a year... And in that process I've made Android + Rosie (Sense UI) non-negotiable aspects of my next phone(s)... And I really like this HTC Tattoo... The complete plate interchange is great. Never seen one so complete... Even the butt plate can be mod... And the specs are for the most part great too... They are basically and HTC Hero Light... Less cam, smaller screen, QVGA & a touch of less ram.. But still ready for the future, Android 2.0...

But the resistive aspect of the screen is a deal ender for me... You can see why on this vid...

Look at sec. 00:20 & 00:35... The phone doesn't let him go the right so he ends up going to the left. The freaking thing chooses Mail for him while he is trying to scroll the widgets.. I don't want my next phone to ruin Rosie for me... Resistive screens should be relegated to a crappy OS like WiMo... I know.. I had the HTC Fuze for a month before I returned it... That's when I became interested on Android... Resistive touch should not be a part of any of the latest and greatest Android sets... For for that matter on any Android set period.

And HTC or the carriers that are going to release this phone really need to rethink that resistive screen... Specially when Moto, LG & others are about to come out with all capacitive android phones...

If T-Mobile was to come out with this phone... And upgraded the screen to capacitive... I would be at their store the same day ready to sign in the dotted line.

Wow...I am actually really impressed at how smoothly the phone works...that 1+ minutes of video has got me thinking about purchasing a Tattoo (although I would like more bells and whistles on the phone that I choose to get)...

But big ups to HTC for making it run smooth...
