Update: As I was prepping to post this, our buddies at Berryreporter sent over a graphic that gives a little more credence to this, sadly I was hoping it was a joke. Pic follows below.
Word coming off the presses has T-mobile business customers getting first dibs on the much anticipated blackberry 8900. Our source says that T-mobile is prepping for a January 19th early launch to business customers and that will probably upset quite a few of you who are desperately seeking this phone. I wouldn’t count on this making the store quite that soon, we’re probably talking about direct to order for those lucky enough to get their hands on this early. The rest of us still have to wait till February 11th.
I suppose some of you might want to take the next week to create a shell company, get a tax id, pass the credit check and get this in your hands early. We aren’t encouraging that though, seriously, don’t really try that.

gold, really? is this the palm beach edition or something? really….gold? am i missing something? *sigh*

God I hope that’s not the color.

it’s not gold people!!… it’s just the reflection off the CROME!! seriously…come on now!
[Reply]
I think that’s just a reflection. The only curve we’ve been shown has only been silver. They most likely would have shown it at CES
[Reply]
It’s not gold, it’s silver like the Bold.
[Reply]
Sweet! I was going to order one of these but now it will be sooner than I thought. Glad it isn’t gold. I was concerned when I saw the picture.
[Reply]
Nice! I just wish it was a regular GSM phone and didn’t need to go through proprietary servers to work.
[Reply]
this is the worst news…
time to change employers that off tmo phones lol

Rose-gold would be nice…to match my Patek-Philippe timepiece. Seriously, chrome would be fine to match my Citizen watch. I bet they’ll “pre-release” this again to other types of customers before Feb. 11th when all the riff-raffs like us get it.

@kdt
Chill. No need to be an a$$ seriously. We all know there is a silver 8900. But if you’re looking via mobile, it looks bronze/gold. So keep your shorts on. If you recall there were 2 colors of the 8320 at launch. One of them being gold.
[Reply]
i have an 8320 now and the idea of integrated gps makes this a perfect phone for me…does t-mobile charge extra for the gps service as does verizon? I don’t recall anything in their current plans other than i imagine the need for a data plan…assuming that the bb bundle and texting are considered data plan enough. any insight on this?
btw, thanks to everybody for pointing out the likely reflection on the fact that its not really gold per se.

I’m so tempted to buy this phone… Its everything I want except for 3g.
I may wait a few months and see if there is a possibility of a bold for tmo
[Reply]
I’ve heard from a T-Mobile friend that January 19th is the correct date for the Business Launch. This won’t be available at the T-Mobile stores, only via Customer Care.
[Reply]
DAMN! When I signed up with Tmo I was debating if I should use my business and open a business account but the guy at the sales booth convinced me that doing a personal account would be better. Now I want to find him and punch him once a day every day between January 19th and February 11th.

I think it’s fantastic. Sure, we have to wait until early February to get our hands on the phone, but this means that the business customers will be the first to deal with any early bugs that the phone might have.
When we get our phones on the 11th of February, there will probably be another update available [or in the works] in response to how the business customers react during the first month.

do i qualify for this if i get a corporate discount and just recently set my account up with my works corp discount? I just filed for it 2 weeks ago and it hasnt shown anything as of yet on my tmobile.com, the only difference i have noticed is that i cannot add a line anymore, Or at least until the discount goes through, it totally removed that option from my account and when i went into best buy and attempted to buy one of there last 2 pink beholds for the girlfriend and they said that the option was blanked out and that i probably have to wait til the corp discount goes through, the thing is i only save like 15 percent and i remember for the g1 preorder that business users couldnt pre order, that sucks and i kinda wanna maybe take this discount off.. even though i can get g1’s for 129.99, beholds for 99.99, any BB for free (even the flip) and the wing for 49.99… its just i would rather have the benefits of preordering say when the g2 is released.

After reading this I thought hmmm… we have 2 individual lines that are actually used for and paid thru our small business. I gave T-Mobile a call to see what I needed to do to change from individual to business. All they need is a Change of Responsibility (COR) form filled out and we would be good to go pick up an 8900 sooner than later. You do need to be a real business and would need a tax ID #, etc.. I am waiting another day or so to make sure this is all real. It would be a pain to go thru this and not be able to get the 8900 early.

I want this phone on January 19th! It’s NOT fair!
[Reply]
I can’t wait till the Blackberry Curve 8900 comes out! I’m actually counting down the days till this baby is released. Arrgh…But! the G1 is soooo tempting. Do you guys think I should get the G1 or the 8900??? Let me know…
[Reply]
We have to be fair, I mean when the G1 came out with the early pre-order, business customers were not eligible. Now that the BB 8900 is releasing early, individual lines are not eligible. Everyone has to get some love around here. And besides BB’s are known as “business” phones anyway, so I think Tmobile is dead on for offering to business lines early.
But does anyone know the got d**n price of this thing???!!!!!
[Reply]
Pre-orders on Jan 19th
Inventory on the 26th
That’s the facts. Jack.

NickyHilton:
I feel your pain with not being able to decide…. I have been waitin for the 8900 since last winter when I first caught wind of it. I have been using the 8320 for a year now and I really like it. There’s no disputing that the 8900 is sexy as hell but after a lot of debate, I decided to get the G1….. The reason is I think Blackberry is falling way behind….. I don’t like that Blackberry doesn’t do ota updates for the OS, you haveta manually connect to a pc, wait a millenium, and hope you do it right. With G1, it auto-updates itself ota so you always have the best OS. Blackberries have a media player but who wants to spend hours transferring files via a USB cable- that’s soooo 2005. These days with the G1, u just use the Amazon app that comes preinstalled and download songs straight to your phone, no wires , pc or week-long vacation needed. Not to mention the Android Marketplace where there are endless possibilities for your G1 in the form of applications and whatnot. The browser on the blackberry is just a joke. G1 has been said to be the best mobile browser on the market(yes even better than the gayguyphone. I mean iphone, sorry) I use my phone for EVERYTHING on the internet so I need the best browser available….. It was tough to decide to give up my Berry but its time to move on up….. Plus the G1 is 3G, Berry is not. You get the idea.
