We know about Chicago, CUBS CLINCH!! We just posted about LA launching today. The emmy awards were great last night, seriously. I’m kidding, 5 hosts?? Orlando, remember we told you the 25th was your special day.

Seattle, wake up Tuesday, come to our site and read all about Android and enjoy 3G following said Android drooling news. Atlanta, you need to wait just one more day, for Wednesday you too shall embrace what 3G loving from Magenta is all about.

PS, I found that picture on google images and I loved the cheesiness of it. I didn’t make it so don’t blame me for the handiwork. Whoever did make it, you have my thanks and the number for the art institute.

Thanks “gsm user!”

Wow!!!! Just One More Day…..I CANT WAIT!!!!!!!

Not real excited about their 3G phones being offered. Any word on whether Nokia will release a 3G-compatible N-series?

Also, what will the plan rates be? I have a $20/month total internet plan now. I’ve had it since GPRS days and it worked going to EDGE. If I just move my SIM over to a 3G phone, will I be golden?

man tmonews is off to a great start this week. giving up plenty of infoo and conversations to have. keep it going all week especially tomorrow unfortunatly i have to stray to androidguys for the g1 webcast buy ill be back right after to talk it up on my favorite blog.

  • Paul

Man I hate the fact that I have no idea what to do. I want to get the G1 – but currently I have no 3G coverage where I live and work so I don’t really know what’s the point and I’m not sure when I’ll ever get it. The Touch Diamond from Sprint is already out as is the iPhone which is already getting 3G coverage in my area – yet I have a sense of loyalty to T-Mobile and would like to stay with them (why – I don’t know). I’m never had such a hard time deciding what to buy. If only there was 3G in my area the decision would be easy. I hate the fact everything these days requires a 2-year contract – so it’s not like you can just pack up and take your business elsewhere when one company improves.

    Argh.

The 3G coverage check on tmobiles site says that my area (08021) and surrounding has coverage… im assuming south jersey falls into the Philadelphia rollout??

  • J

Expect these 3G footprints to expand very quickly. T-Mobile pulled an Oliver on the Germans and. Has asked for “More, please?”. I now my market was given enough sites to cover the core of two smaller college cities.

  • J-Hop2o6

cant wait to wake up 2marro to use 3G in Seattle =) and to hear whatever T-Mobile is gonna announce

  • T1 Connect

@paul dude dont you live in la you got 3g now get the g1 forget about the rest of those carriers.

  • WazzuKirk

I am so psyched!! My city gets 3G tomorrow AND we get the G1 announcement! Now that is a fantastic day!! Woo Hoo!!

  • b

according to the tmobile coverage map atlanta has 3g right now.

  • Paul

@T1 Connect – I’m in Temecula, CA, sadly, which is about 70 miles from L.A. and 60 miles from San Diego and is not covered currently on the 3G map. If L.A and San Diego are live and I still have no 3G – then I think that doesn’t bode very well for me – as I’m in some nomans land.

BGR said San Francisco 3G will lanuch right after Seattle on 09/24/08 http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2008/08/20/t-mobile-3g-launch-plan-for-2008/

HOW COME TMONEWS HAVE NO MENTION OF SF ????

  • David

Relax Ron, I know about San Fran, looks like a few days delay…I’m working to confirm and then I’ll update it.

  • Caseybea

Bah humbug. No 3G in my metro city (MKE) – and not in the forecast either.

Part of me says, “this is so cool, even using it on a cruddy EDGE network might be ‘OK’ to tide me over”. I mean, it’s awesome.

The second part of me says, “good excuse to NOT get the G1 V1.0 and all its hype, and instead wait (STILL out of contract!) until i HAVE 3G, which by my estimated timeframe, won’t be another YEAR. *Then* get the G1, which by then will be the G2, or G1 2.0, or……”

    ??

    Long live my KRZR. *sigh*…..

    What about in North Carolina?
Will it launch here or could we just order online t-mobile.com?

  • TechnologyXDA

Let SonyEricsson Xperia X1 spread some 3g love on your new 3g city, check it out http://www.sonyericsson.com/x1/ …! 3g love……!

  • Ty

Does anyone have any ideas as to how T-Mobile is going to roll out their 3g network, in regards to smaller cities? My guess would be that they are going to transfer over all the major metropolitan areas first, then move to smaller citites.

So I guess that my question is; how long is it going to take them to start setting up 3g coverage in smaller cities?

  • http://yahoo.com YERP

damn when is sacramento getting 3G? im tired of waiting

  • SinCity

I’m curious. 3G won’t reach my area but I would still like the phone. The only drawback would be that it would operate on the EDGE network right? Which is just slower? I would still be able to use GPRS?

  • Iasthai

I’ll give them a few months to get 3G in my area. We don’t even have EDGE yet. If they don’t have 3G here say within 6 months, I may have to go with another carrier. I’m from Wichita Falls, a town of about 100,000 people. Verizon and Sprint are running 3G networks here. AT&T doesn’t even have a 3G network here yet, but for some odd reason they have 3G in Lawton, a town about 50 miles north of here with less people.

  • J-Hop2o6

oh so the say Seattle is TODAY!!! ok so i have the TM-506 (for now), so how can i tell im using 3G DATA/VOICE??

  • me2

A couple things are confusing to me. #1, reading the words on this page imply that it IS “available in all stores within 3G boundary area”. so can I buy this tomorrow? or should it read “will be available at some point”? #2 What does “open system” mean; can I run software meant for plam OS or pocket PC Windows on it? little help please?
